Sired by Charmac stud ram 7212 and out of Charmac stud ewe 7202, Cavalli is a spring 2009 drop ram and is rated "super elite" on the NEG carcass merit index.

Cavalli has white, bright, soft handling and stylish wool, cutting a greasy fleece weight of 2.7kg as a hogget ram. He tested in spring 2011 at 20.1 micron, and had an SD of 3.3, CVD of 16.4, spin fine of 18.8 and curvature of 73.16.

Weighing 75kg in December 2010, Cavalli scanned at 4.9mm of rib fat, 6.0mm of rump fat, IMF 2.0 per cent, EMA 25.64sqcm, and had an NEG carcass merit index of 45.3.
